About JECTEC
ページ内目次
General Background
JECTEC was established in 1991 as a co-operative testing and research organization of the electric wire and cable industry. It was the realization of a plan conceived by the industrial society of wire and cable in Japan, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) with objectives of promoting higher technology for the safety and reliability of wire and cable, and responding to new technological issues related to resources and the environment.
JECTEC has been active in the field of research and development, while expanding its activity in evaluation, conformity assessment, and information services concerning electric wires and cables.
A notable change in recent activities is the remarkable extension of its conformity assessment testing work. JECTEC is gradually evolving into a qualified inspection body from an R&D laboratory.
JECTEC continues to enhance the technology and quality of wires and cables as a third party testing institution and a certification body.
